TYPES OF FIRE EXTINGUISHERS
A fire extinguisher is an active fire protection device used to extinguish or control small fires, often in emergency situations.
- Class A: fires in wood, paper.
- Class B: flammable liquids like grease, gasoline, oil.
- Class C: electrically energized fires.

FIRE HOSE REEL
A fire hose reel provides controlled water supply for early-stage fires. It consists of a drum holding a hose connected to water supply, allowing users to spray water directly on flames.
LANDING VALVE
A landing valve is installed on each floor, connected to the hydrant system, allowing fire-fighters to connect hoses and draw water to fight fires.
FIRE HOSE BOX
A fire hose box is mounted on walls, connected to the landing valve, and allows fire-fighters to quickly connect hoses for firefighting.
ZONE CONTROL VALVE
Separates areas for maintenance and shows fire zones using Butterfly valve, Flow Switch, Pressure Gauge, and Test & Drain Valves.
BUTTERFLY VALVE
A quarter-turn valve controlling water flow. Turns 90° to fully open or close, isolating sections for maintenance or controlling water supply.
PRESSURE GAUGE
Measures water pressure on pipes, pumps, hydrants, and sprinklers to ensure proper operation.
WATER FLOW INDICATOR
Detects water flow in sprinkler pipes and signals the fire alarm panel when a sprinkler head activates.
TEST AND DRAIN VALVE
Allows testing of alarm operation and draining water for maintenance in sprinkler systems.
TYPES OF SPRINKLERS
Pendent, Upright, Sidewall, or Concealed.
PENDENT SPRINKLER
Ceiling-mounted, hanging downward; sprays water in a circular pattern below.
UPRIGHT SPRINKLER
Mounted upright; sprays water upward toward a deflector to distribute below.
SIDEWALL SPRINKLER
Mounted on walls; sprays water in a half-circle pattern outward and below.
CONCEALED SPRINKLER
Hidden behind a cover plate or ceiling; aesthetically pleasing and fully functional.
JOCKEY PUMP
Small pump to maintain pressure and prevent unnecessary main pump starts.
ELECTRICAL PUMP
Main fire pump driven by an electric motor, supplying high-pressure water.
DIESEL PUMP
Main fire pump driven by diesel engine; backup when electrical pump fails.
FIRE PUMP ROOM
Houses main fire pumps, control panels, jockey pumps, and other equipment for reliable fire protection.
BREACHING INLET
Fitting outside building allowing fire brigade to pump water into the fire system.
DRY RISER SYSTEM
Vertical empty pipe connected to water supply only during fire emergency.
WET RISER SYSTEM
Vertical pipe filled with water under pressure, ready for immediate firefighting.
AIR RELEASE VALVE (ARV)
Automatic valve at high points releases accumulated air under pressure.
